Anaesthesiologists of our country have proved to be of the best quality. This is evident by their performance in the country and abroad, where a large number is working. Pakistan Society of Anaesthesiologists has come a long way on this journey of Anaesthesia developed in last few decades.
The Internet is a rapidly expanding source of information that has gained a valued place in the knowledge armamentarium of the Anaesthesiologists. Access to current knowledge, published literature, and a vast array of academic and commercial information has changed the information landscape for both Anaesthesiologists and Patients. I am pleased to announce that we have launched the website of PSA. This marks an important upgrade to our online presence around the globe.
One cannot go without saying that education and methodical practice has been and will always remain the bedrock of improvements in anaesthesia. As we are far behind in the fields of scientific research, such platform would certainly provide a precious opportunity to the young anaesthesiologists for interaction with experienced anaesthesiologists of the country. Our country is in a great need of qualified professionals and it is known fact that we are greatly short of Anaesthesiologists.
I congratulate the current cabinet, members of PSA and every Anaesthesiologist of the country. I also congratulate Dr Safia Zafar Siddiqui and Dr M Kashif Iqbal on their joint effort in launching such a comprehensive website and it was not possible for them, without the guidance and advices of Brig.Salim, Dr Shahab Naqvi, Dr Tariq Hayat Khan, Dr Arshad Taqi, Dr Khalid Bashir, Dr Salman Waris, Dr Rana Altaf, Dr Saeeda Haider, Dr Akhtar Aziz Khan, Dr Gauhar Afshan and Dr Nighat Abbas.
I hope this forum will be very useful in exchange of new scientific information and updated knowledge regarding new trends and researches in the field of anaesthesia, intensive care and pain management.
I can proudly say that today PSA marks an achievement and yet another milestone.
