Despite all the achievements, we are still living in a developing country, where there are several issues that require our attention. I feel that PSA with the help and collaboration of anaesthesiologist from all over Pakistan can work together to uplift the field of anaesthesia and improve the quality of care provided to the patient of our part of the world.
There is a lot that needs to be done in term of education and training in the field of anaesthesia especially in the remote areas of our country. In addition there is need to have our own data and guidelines which should be following international norms but made according to the availability of resource. Besides there is need to make resources available by utilizing the appropriate channels.
In the end I thank with all the depth of my heart the founding members of this great society especially in those times when the specialty of anaesthesiology was not given its due share of respect and recognition by the common public and doctors alike. I am sincerely grateful to present Patron Prof. S Tipu Sultan for his tireless efforts in bringing up the specialty and providing unremitting guidance to all of us. All words of praise and thanks go out for the office bearers throughout these years for the various milestones the society has achieved to reach its present status.
I am looking forward to a fruitful and busy year ahead.
